About the school
Big Blue Marble (BBM) offers programs for children age six weeks through five years. This APPLE accredited school also offers summer camp and after-care with transportation. Located in Coral Springs, BBM is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. Originally established in 2004 as Kids Academy Learning Center, the facility reopened as the newest Big Blue Marble in 2019.
Educational philosophy and administration
Big Blue Marble's proprietary curriculum is called Passport to Learning. Passport to Learning focuses on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), based on the belief that to "succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past." BBM students can also engage in Spanish and French immersion and participate in gardening activities and arts and crafts. In addition, the curriculum has an emphasis on character development.

Each year, classes fundraise and participate in hands-on activities with a charitable organization they choose. In the after school program, The Adventure Club, students are exposed to world cultures and languages through various Destination programs that include Destination Learning, Destination Imagination, which is art-based, Destination Global Adventure, and Destination Team Nation, which teaches leadership skills and then integrates them into real-life experiences such as sports. One parent described Big Blue Marble as a "Wonderful school, very clean, teachers are great…" For security, the school utilizes biometric fingerprint check-in and keycode security access into the buildings. Big Blue Marble Coral Springs is led by Executive Director Catherine Rennecker, who has a BS in Early Childhood Education. One parent commended the school and staff, saying, "Wonderful school, very clean, and very well organized. Owner is very open minded and very friendly. My daughter loves it and wants to stay all day long! I definitely recommend this school for every mom looking for an amazing preschool."
